Out of the ten shows I observed at New York Fashion Week, Venexiana designed by Kati Stern was definitely one of my top picks! While I had no idea what to expect going into the show, I quickly became a fan of Kati’s aesthetic. Since I’m constantly playing with mixing styles as a fashionista, Venexiana’s satin smooth gowns with nods to glam rock metallic and floral detailing were sheer bliss! As models strolled the runway to cymbal heavy rock music, sporting elegant hair and cosmetics, I couldn’t help but think about how brilliant of a design move this contrast was! To take something as bold as metallics and pair it with dramatic feminine colors was a welcome and impressive differentiation. What truly completed the line was that Kati didn’t have to create an over the top look to get the point across, but rather, just enough rocker paired with just enough glamour. Of all the things I respect most in a designer, taking statement ideas and making them beautiful and wearable is paramount. Venexiana by Kati Stern demonstrated this like a pro! Check her out!
