OOTD on eagle’s wings.

So I haven’t posted any of my new purchases since the last time I was in New York! I honestly only think I bought from Zara…OH and my spiky loafers which I’m wearing in these pics are from Madden! But I figured it’s time to begin showing some of my own favorite summer looks! I love this get-up and am completely enthralled with the eagle t-shirt! And the harem shorts just totally complete it (just be sure, if this inspires you to try a similar style with the dropped inseam, that you don’t wear something with too much business at neck level. Otherwise you’ll end up looking really disproportionate)…what do you think?

Something to really hang your hat on.

I never thought that I would say this, but I think I want a straw fedora.  Generally, in my mostly black, grey, and metallic wardrobe-colors and any kind of brown or tan are a rarity.  It’s not that I don’t like browns or colors, but blacks and metallics have just sort of become my thing.  Adding something outside of the box usually requires me to purchase an entire outfit instead of just adding on to my wardrobe.  However, after seeing some of Eugenia Kim’s hats, I’m thinking a hat and supporting outfit might be in order!

I stumbled on to Eugenia Kim’s online store and profile on Cityblis, and was extremely impressed with her men’s hats (Ladies, be sure to check out her summer women’s hats-talk about GORGEOUS!).  She also has an amazing video shown here. You can just tell even from a snapshot, that each of her pieces were made with great care, thought, and most importantly, fashion forward thinking.  As in true Metallic Dapper fashion, I love when designers take something classic and make it their own.  In her case, the straw fedora is taken from just a simple summer staple and turned into something really unique and fresh.

Her designs go so far beyond just great millinery but truly have that “special” factor-like a family heirloom or rare couture find. I love that she uses vintage ribbons and feathers, and even tweaks some of the colors from solid ecru toyo to a color block approach as shown below.  This specific hat also features a real leather band which I love!

Point being, Eugenia Kim is one of my new obsessions!  Check her out here and support such an incredible designer at fine shopping establishments such as Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Net-a-Porter.com.

Real Value.

“The best things in life are free; the second best are expensive.” -Coco Chanel

When it comes down to it at the end of the day, the people inside of the clothes are what truly matters in life! Just a bit of perspective! Although, a little Chanel never hurt!

Instead of using a traditional tie with a button up, try adding some layered necklaces and some spikey bracelets to finish off the look! If the necklaces alone isn’t for you, try layering a few multi chain neckIaces over the top of a tie! I wore mine with my gray Armani zip cuff pants and black Aldo shoes! What do you think?!
